The summer internship program is organized by Collegium Civitas in Warsaw, Poland includes 25-30 hours of internship per week, credited academic and internship seminars and Polish language course.

2009 Museum Internship Program |

Lima, Arequipa, and Lambayeque, Peru; July through August 2009
For the seventh consecutive year, the U.S. Embassy in Lima is undertaking a series of programs to support cultural preservation under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Cultural Patrimony between Peru and the United States. In support of the MOU, the Embassy promotes an internship program for American graduate students of museum studies and conservation programs to be held from July through August 2009.
The objective of this program is to enable well-qualified graduate students the opportunity to do field research in Lima, Arequipa and Lambayeque. It will also support museums that house rich art collections, but are greatly in need of skilled professionals. Click here to view the program brochure. |

2009 Summer Mixtec & Zapotec Language Programs |

Mixtec Program: Language instruction is provided by native Mixtec speakers and scholars Juan Julián Caballero, Marcos Cruz Bautista, and Angelina Trujillo. The program is coordinated by Dr. Ramona Pérez, a Oaxacan scholar from the Department of Anthropology at SDSU. The course is taught in Spanish and offers 140 hours of instruction plus weekend fieldtrips over a six-week period.
Zapotec Program: This intensive program is taught by native Isthmus Zapotec speaker and linguist Tomás Villalobos Aquino through the Casa de la Cultura in Juchitán. Professor Villalobos Aquino coordinates the program along with Dr. Ramona Pérez. The course is taught in Spanish, and offers 140 hours of class instruction plus weekend fieldtrips over a six-week period. Participants will experience a full immersion in Zapotec culture and language through homestays with Zapotec speaking families.
Each program costs $4,000. This includes all language instruction and SDSU registration fee (does not include transportation or housing). FLAS fellowships are available through SDSU.
