Gaza, the Middle East, Obama....Change We Can Believe In?

A lecture by scholar and peace-activist Phyllis Bennis.

Phyllis Bennis is a Fellow of the Institute for Policy Studies, where she directs the New Internationalism project, and a Fellow of the Transnational Institute in Amsterdam. Her books include three primers: Understanding the Palestinian-Israeli Conflict , Ending the Iraq War, and Understanding the US-Iran Conflict , as well as Challenging Empire: How People, Governments and the UN Defy U.S. Power. She serves on the steering committee of both the U.S. Campaign to End Israeli Occupation and the national anti-war coalition “United for Peace and Justice”, and works with the global peace movement, including as co-chair of the UN-based International Coordinating Network on Palestine. She spends much of her time writing and speaking in a wide range of U.S. and global venues, and has appeared frequently on media outlets including PBS's The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, NPR's Diane Rehm Show, Democracy Now, BBC, al-Jazeera, and many more.
